Paladin “Pj” Jordan, CPP

Pj is President of the Paladin Jordan Detective Agency. The Paladin Jordan Detective Agency is a general investigations firm, providing investigation and investigations-related training services. Pj has 40 years experience investigating, assessing, and managing law enforcement operations, assessing personal privacy issues and breaches, as well as personal safety and security-related matters. Pj began his law enforcement career in 1979 when he became an Illinois State Trooper (Cadet Class #62). During his ISP career, Pj’s assignments included: patrol in 3 Districts (Springfield, Joliet and Chicago), FTO, tactical response and crowd control, crash reconstruction, auto theft investigations, internal investigations, NASCAR event preparation, watch commander, domestic violence incident response, deadly force shootings, excessive force complaints, bribery, undercover, death row prisoner escorts, and critical incident response preparation. Pj also conducted, supervised and directed investigations across multiple state agencies; including mental health, DCFS, IDOT, and corrections. Pj received numerous commendations and awards; including a lifesaving award from the American Heart Association.

Pj retired as an investigative commander from the Division of Internal Investigation in 2008. Since retirement, Pj bolstered his knowledge and experience of privacy, safety and security matters by participating in study groups, training courses and conferences. In 2012, Pj obtained 2 Illinois Private Detective licenses and opened his firm. His clients include private citizens, small companies, attorneys, and corporate clients. His case types include: family investigations, criminal defense preparation, internal theft, locating deadbeat parents and assets, background and due diligence investigations, missing persons, facilitating family reunions, and personal and asset protection and investigations-related training.

He is also an Advisory Board member and pro bono investigator for the Lawndale Christian Legal Center. Additionally, Pj has conducted more than 500 threat assessment investigations within Chicago-area nursing homes. In 2008, he joined ASIS, International. And, in 2010 he obtained his CPP and PCI. Pj has been the Certification Chair for ASIS Chicago since 2011. In that role Pj has coordinated and conducted 10 annual Study Groups for Chicago-area members.

Pj has an associates degree in Criminal Justice from Joliet Junior College and a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts from Governors State University. He is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command (Class 2019).
